Merkel arrives on farewell visit to Moscow

German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in RUSSIA on her last visit. In the fall, parliamentary elections will be held in Germany, after which Merkel promised not to run again for the country's chancellors.

In the Kremlin, President Vladimir Putin greeted her with the German phrase Guten Tag (“Good afternoon”) and presented her with a bouquet of flowers. “I am sure that this will not only be a farewell visit <...>, but also a visit filled with serious content,” Putin said in response. The negotiations lasted three hours.
