Producers doubled the rate of sugar shipment in Bashkiria

SUGAR factories of Bashkiria in March increased the shipment of sugar almost twice compared to the same period last year. About 550 tons of sand are shipped daily from warehouses, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus Ramil Nuriakhmetov said at an operational meeting in the government of the republic. Sugar is shipped to retail chains, bakers, confectionery and wholesale companies that supply it to small retailers and small bakeries.

In 2021, 150 thousand tons of sugar were produced in the region, today 36.8 thousand tons of sand are stored in the warehouses of sugar factories in Bashkiria, while the annual demand for it in the region is estimated at 32 thousand tons. The reserves of the Chishminsky Sugar Plant are 13.8 thousand tons, and the reserves of Raevsugar are 23 thousand tons. The last enterprise plans to start processing raw sugar at the end of May, negotiations are underway with traders on its delivery, the processing volume will be up to 25 thousand tons per month.

According to Nuriahmetov, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture set the task of Bashkiria to expand the area under sugar beet from 35,000 to 47,000 hectares.

As of March 18, the selling price of sugar in Bashkiria was 69-70 rubles per kilogram, in December sugar cost 51 rubles. The average annual cost of sugar production in 2021 in the region was estimated at 41.37 rubles per kilogram.

As RBC Ufa reported, the prosecutor's office of Bashkiria had previously received information about a possible suspension of sugar shipments by producers and major suppliers of the republic. Market participants in this way may try to create an artificial shortage of the product, the supervisory authority noted. Based on the results of the audit, the prosecutor's office issued a warning about the inadmissibility of violating the legislation in the field of pricing against the heads of the Chishminsky Sugar Plant and the Bashkir Sugar Trade House.
