Bolivian President vaccinated against COVID-19 with Sputnik V vaccine

Bolivian President Luis Arce was vaccinated against the CORONAVIRUS infection with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, according to the Bolivian News Agency.

“I vaccinated myself <...>. I believe that this will be a signal for the population to contact the vaccination centers and receive the first dose, ”the agency quotes the president as saying.

Arce also recalled that initially the average daily vaccination volume was between 6,000 and 8,000 people per day, and that thanks to the introduction of mass immunization sites by the national government, it became possible to vaccinate more than 52,000 people per day.

On January 6, the Sputnik V vaccine was registered in Bolivia without additional clinical trials, based on the results of the third phase of trials in RUSSIA. And at the end of January, Bolivia received the first batch of the Russian vaccine. The President then specified that 20 thousand doses were brought to the country, and in total it will receive 5.2 million doses of the drug.
