The call to exclude RUSSIA from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is illiterate. This was stated by Russia's permanent representative to the organization Mikhail Ulyanov.

“It is difficult for me to comment on the illiterate statements of the adviser to the Ukrainian minister. For starters, it would not hurt to get acquainted with the IAEA statute in order to understand: it is impossible to remove Russia or any other country from the IAEA. This option is not provided for in the charter of the agency, ”he said.

The HEAD of the IAEA announced his readiness to come to Chernobyl Society

Earlier, Elena Zerkal, adviser to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, made a similar initiative on the air of NV radio. According to her, the seizure of the Chernobyl and Zaporozhye nuclear power plants by the Russian military may become the reason for the exclusion. Russia's representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that the Russian military had taken the power plants under guard.

According to Zerkal, Kyiv, together with partners, is working, if not to exclude Moscow, then at least to reduce its role and remove Russians from key positions in the IAEA secretariat.
