Indonesia hopes that direct flights between Moscow and Jakarta, as well as the island of Bali, will begin before the summer of 2023, Ambassador to the States in RUSSIA Jose Antonio Morato Tavares told RIA Novosti.
“Azur Air has already received permission to fly to Jakarta, they have to fulfill some requirements. One of them is to open an office in Indonesia. Nordwind is also trying to get permission, we are in the process,” he said.
Now, according to aggregators, it is impossible to fly to Bali from Moscow by direct flight. Tourists have options with transfers in the United Arab Emirates and Singapore. The minimum ticket price in November is 40 thousand rubles. The cheapest ticket from Moscow to Jakarta will cost a tourist 36.4 thousand rubles. The airline offers transfers in Istanbul, Colombo (Sri Lanka), Kuwait and Bangkok.
The influx of tourists to Bali has fallen during the CORONAVIRUS pandemic. Airlines have stopped operating flights between Moscow and the resort due to restrictions associated with it. Previously, flights to the island were operated by Aeroflot and Rossiya.
Russians will have access to direct flights to Bali Life
In October, the ambassador explained that in order to resume flights, airlines must submit a new application and obtain appropriate permission. In June, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow and Jakarta were discussing the possibility of resuming flights.
“This, among other things, will be facilitated by the easing of anti-COVID restrictions for travel of citizens, as well as the existing visa-free regime,” the HEAD of state noted.
