The seasonal increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza continues in the Perm Territory. According to the department of Rospotrebnadzor for the Perm Territory, two variants of influenza are recorded in the region.
“The H1N1 virus of 2009, which is also called swine flu, was detected, as well as influenza B viruses, but the first variant prevails,” says Natalya Voldshmidt, deputy HEAD of the Epidemiological Surveillance Department.
At the moment, the educational process has been suspended in 76 classes, as well as in 120 groups of kindergartens throughout the region, a representative of Rospotrebnadzor reports.
“But it is worth noting that this situation is, in fact, common and is repeated every year. While we are not talking about some kind of mass closure, we are also not talking about the epidemic, ”said Voldschmidt.
Over the past week, 23.5 thousand cases of SARS were recorded. As the deputy head of the epidemiological surveillance department of Rospotrebnadzor notes, this is a typical situation for this time, but it is too early to talk about the peak of the incidence.
“In addition to SARS and influenza, the spread of CORONAVIRUS continues. It is difficult to talk about forecasts, but still I think that the peak incidence will be reached by mid-January. How the epidemic will develop, time will tell, but usually it lasts from 4 to 8 weeks. An epidemic can be avoided by getting vaccinated,” adds Natalya Voldshmidt.
As the Ministry of HEALTH of the Perm Territory adds, infection of a patient with covid-19 with the flu is also dangerous.
