The main issue that interests Russians on the Direct Line with Vladimir Putin is the pandemic. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in an interview with Rossiya 24.
“The set of topics, in principle, changes from year to year. it is difficult to establish any trend. This year, of course, the HEAD of everything is covid,” Peskov said.

According to him, Russians are interested in various topics related to the coronavirus: covid-19 as a disease, vaccination, the choice of vaccines, the economic consequences of the pandemic, etc.
“Someone does not sincerely understand why some regions establish vaccination as a mandatory condition for certain categories of professions and sectors,” Peskov said.
The second most popular question is the economy and the crisis phenomena in it. Among other things: lack of medicines in the regions, problems of agriculture, dilapidated housing and bad roads.
Peskov noted that this year Russians are less interested in issues related to international relations.
Direct Line with Vladimir Putin has been held annually since 2001. The exceptions were 2004, 2012 and 2020. From 2008 to 2011, when Putin was prime minister, the program was called Direct Conversation with Vladimir Putin.
During the program, the head of state answers questions asked by Russian citizens. This year, the direct line will take place on June 30. Russians will be able to send their questions through a special application on their smartphones.
On June 29, Putin held a meeting on preparations for the direct line, according to the Kremlin website. It was attended by the leadership of the presidential administration, deputy prime ministers, as well as finance minister Anton Siluanov.
