The portal "Stopcoronavirus.rf" has suspended the weekly publication of data on the level of herd immunity to covid-19 in Russia, since the emergence of new variants of the virus requires a revision of the calculation model, according to a message on the website of the operational headquarters.

“Changes in the virus genome, the emergence of new genovariants and a change in their dominance require a revision of the model <...>. Due to the need to develop new approaches to assessing herd immunity, the publication of data on Stopcoronavirus.rf is suspended until a new methodology for calculating the level of herd immunity is formed.

More than 35 thousand cases of covid were detected in Russia Society

The operational headquarters began to publish data on the level of herd immunity from October 2021, at that time it was 45.7%. According to the latest data, it is only 7.4%.

The government was going to achieve a herd immunity rate of 80% on average across the country, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said in November 2021. In early February, the HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that due to the spread of the omicron strain, it should be brought to at least 90%.
