On March 23, the emergency special session of the UN General Assembly will resume its work, follows from the schedule of meetings on the organization's website.

The meeting will start at 10:00 (17:00 Moscow time). The request to resume the session was previously made by the United States , France, Germany, CANADA, Ukraine, Georgia and a number of other countries.

The first meeting at the UN on the situation after the start of the Russian military special operation in Ukraine was held on February 24. At it, the permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that RUSSIA was acting against the Kiev junta, and not the people of Ukraine, and asked not to call the operation a "war."

On February 26, the UN Security Council considered a draft resolution calling for an end to the military operation. Russia vetoed it; 11 member countries of the Security Council supported its adoption; three countries, including CHINA , abstained from voting.
