Threat of emergency covid measures
On October 14, the operational headquarters announced new highs in daily incidence rates since the beginning of the epidemic: 31,299 cases of COVID-19 infection were detected per day, 986 people died. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the country's authorities are ready to take decisive measures to combat CORONAVIRUS infection if the infrastructure cannot cope with the flow of patients.
video According to Peskov, the Kremlin does not have any specific “red line”, after which the authorities will switch to emergency measures. However, a situation in which the HEALTH care system in a particular region begins to “choke” can serve as a trigger. The regions, meanwhile, are expanding restrictions: QR codes for visiting public places have been introduced in the Belgorod Region, and the proportion of those for whom vaccination is mandatory has been increased in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. A list of all regions with restrictions is in the RBC material.
