Plague
At the beginning of the week, ROSSELKHOZNADZOR specialists named the preliminary causes of the outbreak of plague in the Krasnokamsky district of the Perm Territory. According to preliminary data, the outbreaks could be caused by food waste, which the owners of household plots fed to pigs. Moreover, pig breeders took food waste from organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Defense, where one company supplied pig products.
“In Perm, waste was taken from the canteen of the Suvorov Military School. With the help of the Mercury veterinary certification system, a carrier company was established that supplies military organizations with pig products. That is, one company supplied food products to both the military unit and the military school. Food waste could cause infection of pigs with ASF, ”explained a representative of the Rosselkhoznadzor.
Later, the Suvorov School commented on the accusation. At the FGKOU "Perm Suvorov Military School of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation" in samples of food products from pork, the African plague virus was not detected. Such a conclusion was issued to the institution by the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance in the Kirov Region, the Udmurt Republic and the Perm Territory.
