The restrictive measures introduced in RUSSIA due to the spread of covid-19 are very mild. This was stated by the HEAD of the Russian Ministry of HEALTH Mikhail Murashko in an interview with Channel One.

“It seems, and I’ll explain why,” the minister said, answering a question from journalist Vladimir Pozner whether the restrictions seem very mild to him (quoted by TASS).

According to Murashko, Russians need to comply with the imposed restrictions, since “putting others at risk is at least not reckless, but dangerous and should be punished.” He believes that discipline and adherence to the rules give the desired effect, and the feeling that “we were constrained in some way is not true and wrong.”

Murashko also added that the government was discussing more serious measures to influence the population, and, according to him, "they have begun to be implemented."

Against the backdrop of an increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus, about 20 regions of Russia have already introduced mandatory vaccination of a number of population groups against COVID-19 and other measures. The first was Moscow, where 60% of all service workers should receive at least the first dose of the vaccine by mid-July. Also, restrictions on visiting catering establishments without presenting a QR code came into force in the capital: it can be received by those who either passed a negative PCR test no earlier than three days, or completed a full course of vaccination against COVID-19, or had a coronavirus in the last six months.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that although the fight against coronavirus continues, "the disease has not gone anywhere" and there is a risk of infection. Rospotrebnadzor believes that only mass vaccination will help to completely stop the spread of infection. Murashko also previously reported that the tense situation with the coronavirus remains in those regions of Russia where residents do not comply with the recommended preventive measures. “In those regions where the population follows the rules and goes for vaccination, the situation is calm,” he added.

On June 28, more than 21 thousand cases of COVID-19 were detected in Russia per day, 611 people died. In terms of the number of cases detected per day, Moscow is the leader - 7246, followed by the Moscow region (2722) and St. Petersburg (1335).
