Sobyanin canceled the mandatory wearing of gloves in Moscow

Almost 1.5 years after the introduction of this rule, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin abolished the mandatory wearing of gloves in public places and in transport. This measure was one of the most controversial, it was criticized by experts and declared its uselessness. The wearing of masks, designed to provide protection against infection with the CORONAVIRUS infection covid-19 , remained mandatory.

Sobyanin explained his decision by an improvement in the situation with COVID-19 in the capital, including a sharp reduction in the number of infections detected daily and hospitalizations of those who did get sick. According to him, the situation has improved thanks to the vaccination campaign. In this regard, he called on Muscovites who did not have time to get vaccinated not to postpone their visit to the vaccination centers.
