The mandatory wearing of masks in the Czech Republic can be lifted when at least 75% of the country's population is vaccinated, reports České Noviny, citing a statement by Czech Health Minister Adam Vojtěch.

“We can lift the measures based on a higher vaccination rate – this is our message today. As part of the campaign, we say: "Let's bring the vaccination rate to at least 75%, and after that we can talk about lifting measures like in other countries," Vojtech said.

According to him, such concessions may affect the mandatory wearing of masks and the holding of public events. In particular, now a limited number of people can take part in them, and at the entrance citizens are asked for vaccination certificates.

In total, more than 11.5 million vaccinations were made in the country. The population of the Czech Republic, according to the Czech Office of Statistics as of March this year, is more than 10.69 million citizens. At the same time, 4368 vaccinations were made in the country over the past day. BLOOMBERG estimates that as of September 5, 54.2% of the population in the Czech Republic were fully vaccinated, while the average for the EU is 59.9%.
