The Ministry of Labor named the leading regions for remote work

Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Sverdlovsk and Novosibirsk regions lead the top 5 regions for the spread of remote work. This was reported in the Ministry of Labor to the newspaper Izvestia.

The department noted that, according to operational monitoring data from the Jobs in RUSSIA portal, in total, about 5% of employees across the country currently work remotely.

They also clarified that remote work is most actively used in financial and educational organizations, in the field of computer and software, information and communication technologies and communications.

According to the Ministry of Labor at the beginning of April 2021, about 6% of the total number of employees — just over 3 million people — worked remotely. At the same time, at the end of November last year, 6.5% of the able-bodied population worked remotely, which amounted to approximately 3.7 million people, the ministry reported earlier.
