In 2021, the US has imposed the most sanctions against CHINA , Belarus and Russia. Moreover, in terms of the number of new targets (95) added to the SND sanctions list, Russia lost to Belarus (96), according to the Washington Center for a New American Security (CNAS). In first place is China with 100 new targets on the lists. In total, last year the United States added 765 objects to the SDN list, China, Belarus and Russia each accounted for 12-13% of such decisions.

For comparison, in 2020, the administration of then President Donald Trump imposed sanctions on 777 individuals, companies and organizations, property, and Iran was in first place in terms of the number of such actions (43%), Venezuela was in second place (13%) .
