The ministry clarified that the share of Russian artificial sapphires in the world market is up to 40%. They are used in jewelry, as well as in the production of chips and glasses for gadgets, including the iPhone.

The supply of artificial sapphire from RUSSIA can be limited only as a last resort, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade said.

“The share of Russian artificial sapphires in the world market is very large and currently reaches up to 40%. However, we do not seek to develop unfriendly action scenarios and reserve this right to respond only in the most extreme situations, ”the message says (TASS quote).

The ministry also noted that leading Western companies are interested in Russian sapphires.
