The Ukrainian authorities ordered militants in Mariupol to shoot those remaining soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who want to lay down their arms. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov.

As the department reported the day before, Mariupol was almost completely cleared of the Ukrainian military. The remnants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries in the amount of 2.5 thousand people are blocked on the territory of the Azovstal plant. They were asked to lay down their arms and surrender.

At the request of Roskomnadzor, RBC provides data on the details of the military operation in Ukraine based on information from Russian official sources.

“However, the Kyiv nationalist regime, according to radio interception, forbade negotiations on surrender, ordering the Nazis of Azov (an extremist organization banned in RUSSIA. -) to shoot on the spot anyone who wanted to lay down their arms among Ukrainian military personnel and foreign mercenaries,” he said today Konashenkov.

The fighting in Mariupol has been going on almost from the very beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine. On March 18, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced fighting in the central districts of the city. The Russian authorities have repeatedly spoken about the imminent establishment of control over the city.

On April 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine would stop negotiations with Russia if the Ukrainian military remaining in Mariupol were destroyed. According to him, the situation in the city remains difficult. “Our military is blocked. There is a humanitarian crisis, no food, no water, no medicines. Nevertheless, the guys are defending themselves,” he said.
