Tourism ministers from the G20 countries supported the idea of introducing so-called covid-passports - special certificates for those who have been vaccinated against a new CORONAVIRUS infection covid-19, BLOOMBERG reports, citing a statement by Italy's Tourism Minister Massimo Garavalho.
Such a decision, according to him, was made at the first virtual meeting of G20 tourism ministers this year. Italy in 2021 is its chairman.
According to Garavaglia, covid passports will allow the tourism sector to return to normal operations, which will be crucial for the recovery of the global economy.
This document will indicate that the holder has been vaccinated, has immunity as a result of a past illness, or has recently tested negative for COVID-19.
Thomas Bareiss, the German Deputy Economics Minister who took part in the meeting, also confirmed to Bloomberg that the participants supported the plans to implement such a document.
