Since 2020, during the introduction of restrictions caused by the covid-19 pandemic , the activities of six public baths in Novosibirsk, which are part of the municipal budgetary institution Sibiryachka Bath House, have been suspended for 4.5 months. This led to a 1.9-fold drop in the company's income. RBC Novosibirsk was told about this in the press service of the city administration.

"BH "Sibiryachka" is a planned-unprofitable institution. <...> The tariff approved by the city hall of Novosibirsk has always been less than the cost of the service. As a result, the institution was compensated from the city budget for the difference between the cost of washing and the approved tariff, including preferential in the form of a subsidy,” the municipality said.

Earlier, the Novosibirsk Chamber of Control and Accounts appealed to the prosecutor's office after analyzing the activities of MBU "BH" Sibiryachka ". One of the remarks of the auditors concerned the fall of the company's own income. In 2012, the institution's own income amounted to 61.9% of the total income, in 2021 this figure decreased to 29.5%.

The mayor's office added that it has now announced the acceptance of applications for the conclusion of investment projects for the reconstruction of baths located at the following addresses: on the street. Petropavlovskaya, 5 (bath number 36), st. Belovezhskoy, 10/1 (bath number 3), st. Smolenskaya, 4 (bath number 22), st. Chekalina, 35a (bath number 26), st. Pervomaiskaya, 84 (bath number 19) and st. Guryevskaya, 68 (bath number 7).

“Due to long-term and regular exposure to humidity, the bathhouses are destroyed. In order to bring the buildings of the baths into a standard state, it was decided to continue the established practice of restoring the baths at the expense of investors, in connection with which, as part of the formation of the terms of the investment agreement, an independent examination of the technical condition of all municipal baths was carried out,» the city administration noted. The cost of reconstruction of six buildings in the mayor's office was estimated at 280 million rubles.
