The term for the lifting of restrictions on entry into RUSSIA from abroad, introduced due to the CORONAVIRUS pandemic, has not yet been determined. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova at a briefing.
She recalled that the issuance of Russian visas for foreign citizens was temporarily suspended in 2020 due to the spread of covid-19 .
“Foreign citizens will be able to apply for a single electronic visa to enter Russia only after the removal of the established restrictions, the term for the abolition of which has not yet been determined,” Zakharova said.
According to her, on the eve of the summer season, there is a desire of a number of countries to open external borders in order to maintain their own tourism industry, despite the ongoing positive dynamics in the spread of coronavirus.
“The situation with COVID-19 remains, as international experts say, volatile, including due to the spread of various strains of the virus. This may cause new emergency restrictions, including the termination of international traffic,” Zakharova stressed.
