The main forum of beekeepers has been postponed to 2023 in Chile

Council of the World Federation of Beekeeping Organizations "Apimondia" (Apimondia Federation) has canceled the international congress of beekeepers in Ufa. The reason for the decision was the disagreement of the organizers with the conduct of a special military operation in Ukraine.

“In early March, the executive committee of Apimondia met and unanimously voted to cancel the congress in Ufa. I am grateful to everyone for their support, it was not an easy decision. Now we are preparing for the annual meeting in Europe at an alternative site," said the president of the federation of beekeepers, Jeff Pettis.

According to the HEAD of the organization, the next world congress will be held in 2023 in Santiago, Chile.

As RBC Ufa reported, Bashkiria received the right to host the 47th Apimondia in 2017. Then the republic was chosen among other countries - Denmark, Serbia and Slovenia. The previous World Beekeeping Congress in 2019 was held in CANADA. Delegates from Bashkiria took part in it. In Ufa, the event was supposed to take place in 2021 but was postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic .

The forum was to be held in Ufa and regions of the republic in September 2022. In the capital, the complex on the southern exit from the city, where the WorldSkills RUSSIA 2021 national championship final was held, was chosen as the main venue for the event .
