RUSSIA was able to avoid the super-heavy consequences of the pandemic, despite the fact that there were many difficulties. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, speaking at the congress of the United Russia party, RBC correspondent reports.
He added that the CORONAVIRUS is not retreating and it will be a long fight.
Medvedev noted that United Russia, unlike its political opponents, did not announce a lockdown in its activities during the pandemic, but continued to work to support people.
The chairman of United Russia also said that the party was of great importance for maintaining social stability and a stable economy in the country. Summing up the results of the work over the past five years, Medvedev said that United Russia was able to fulfill almost all the obligations from the 2016 election program, no difficulties prevented this. According to him, this is an "extremely important result."
The day before, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that the level of herd immunity among Russians approached 54%. At the same time, she noted that Sevastopol had already reached the target level for herd immunity in the region, an indicator of 80.8% was registered. Golikova also noted that there are regions approaching this value, in which the level of immunity to coronavirus is already above 72%.
