The authorities of the Leningrad Region will allocate almost 9 billion rubles in 2022. for the completion of social facilities at the expense of the budget due to a sharp increase in the cost of construction. Yevgeny Baranovsky, deputy chairman of the government of the Leningrad region for construction and housing and communal services, told reporters about this.

He stated the need to increase the cost of existing contracts for the construction of social facilities: schools, kindergartens, medical institutions, etc. “We calculated that we have 82 objects under construction. Given the increase in [the cost of construction], we need about 8.6-9 billion rubles. in order to complete everything we started and realize all our plans. This is a significant amount, it is more than all the funds of the targeted investment program in the context of “construction” for previous periods,” said Yevgeny Baranovsky.

According to him, the necessary amount of additional funding is "already planned." “We allocate additional funds for each of more than 80 facilities,” said the deputy chairman of the government of the Leningrad region. At the same time, the launch of new budget construction projects will be moved to next year. “We are significantly reducing our desires and the implementation of new projects this year. The main task is to complete what has been started,” said Yevgeny Baranovsky.

As RBC Petersburg previously reported, developers faced rising prices for building materials in 2021. During the year, the cost of construction increased by an average of 50%. According to the Petersburg Real Estate CC (part of the Setl Group holding), some items have increased in price even more, for example, mineral wool has risen in price by 135%, PVC products - by 60%. Considering the cost of materials and work, finishing became more expensive for developers by 68%. The cost of internal engineering networks and their installation increased in price by 60%. The construction of the ground part of buildings has become 50% more expensive, and the monolithic frame - by 52%. Glazing of balconies and loggias became the record holder - the price increased by 150%.

In 2022, the situation worsened. According to the President of the Russian Guild of Managers and Developers, the founder of Becar Asset Management Alexander Sharapov, since the beginning of the year there has been an increase in the cost of projects by 20-30%, and for a number of items of Western engineering equipment - at times. “Now new construction projects – plus 30% to the cost. And this is according to the most modest estimates, ”he said.
