The presidential administration is not working on the issue of changing legislation in order to make vaccination against CORONAVIRUS mandatory, said presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, RIA Novosti reports.
“No, at the moment this is not the question. In the substantive plan, no actions are being taken in this regard, ”Peskov said.
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of RUSSIA, said earlier that although citizens themselves decide whether to be vaccinated or not, "in the interests of the state, in the interests of protecting the vast majority of the population, such decisions can also be of a generally binding nature." The balance between voluntariness and obligation can be shifted in favor of the latter, followed from the words of Medvedev. He explained that in this issue, on the one hand, there are “values of an individual life”, on the other hand, “protection of the entire population”.
