On November 11, Germany set an all-time pandemic record with 50,196 new infections in a 24-hour period. 235 patients died. Since the beginning of the pandemic 4,894,250 inhabitants have been infected and 97,198 have died. Interestingly, according to the Koch Institute on November 10, there were 39,676 cases of covid-19 infection. This does not mean that tomorrow the increase will rise again by a few thousand: much depends on the ways and regions of testing. But the numbers could break a new record.

The number of new cases of covid in RUSSIA rose by 40,759 in 24 hours, the operational headquarters for the fight against CORONAVIRUS reported. 3,494 (8.6%) of them were without clinical manifestations. 33,156 people have recovered. The last time more than 40 thousand people were registered on November 6, when the figure reached a record since the beginning of the pandemic - 41.3 thousand. A total of 8,952,472 people were infected with the coronavirus 7,687,317. The leaders in new infections were Moscow - 6,240, St. Petersburg - 3,230 and the Moscow region - 2,617.

So, Germany with a population of about 83 million people these days has almost 10,000 more infections than Russia with about 144 million people. The fully vaccinated adult population in Russia is 34.8% (one dose - 40.9%), in Germany - 67.2% (one dose - 67.7%). Does it seem like vaccinations are useless?

It may seem so until the daily mortality rate is compared. In Germany it is 235. In Russia, November 10, another record was set at 1,239. The ratio is 1:5.5. Considering the population, it's about 1:3.

What kind of wave is this? German HEALTH Minister Jens Spahn said on November 3 that it was the fourth. The graph in the illustration shows it well. Russia is also the fourth, although the third (summer 2021) is not very clear. Two extremely different countries, with different vaccination systems. But with a similar pattern of events.

The unpredictability of the development of the pandemic is also due to the fact that the upsurge this fall covered very prosperous and well-organized countries - Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium. This phenomenon has yet to be analyzed.
