China will provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine for $1.5 million

The Chinese authorities will provide Ukraine with a new batch of humanitarian aid in the amount of about $1.5 million in connection with the Russian military operation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said, UDN reports.

“The Chinese government has decided to provide Ukraine with additional humanitarian aid in the amount of 10 million yuan (about $1.5 million),” Wenbin said.

He added that CHINA will continue to play a constructive role in helping to de-escalate the situation in Ukraine and is ready to make efforts to overcome the humanitarian crisis.

On March 9, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lingjian reported that the Chinese division of the Red Cross would send humanitarian aid worth 5 million yuan (more than $791,000) to Ukraine.
