Over the past two years, China's "zero tolerance" policy for covid-19 , which included harsh lockdowns, mass testing and travel restrictions, has prevented a huge number of deaths within the country. At the same time, Beijing managed to maintain the EXPORT of all goods (from iPhone and Tesla to fertilizers and car parts) to other states.
Consumers and businesses have an interest in Beijing continuing its anti-COVID policy if they want to continue buying Chinese-made goods without interruptions in supplies and without further price increases.
However, this idea is not popular outside of CHINA . The world is increasingly criticizing Beijing for its uncompromising commitment to suppressing each new outbreak of COVID-19. Opponents of such a policy argue that it harms the Chinese economy, increases the risks associated with global supply chains, and even threatens human rights.
