The military operation of RUSSIA in Ukraine began on February 24, two days later Kadyrov confirmed that Chechen units were participating in it. On February 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the DPR formations blocked Mariupol, but on March 11, the department reported that the city was blocked by Ukrainian forces. A week later, the fighting took place in the center of Mariupol.

At the request of Roskomnadzor, RBC provides data on the details of the military operation in Ukraine based on information from Russian official sources.

On March 21, Kadyrov announced the start of the assault on the city, and in early April, according to him, the Russian Armed Forces took control of 98% of the territory of Mariupol. He added that in the city “only separately fortified shelters of Bandera, including the Azovstal plant, remained.”

On April 10, Kadyrov announced that the city was “liberated” by almost 100%, and the main tasks were “in principle completed.” Two days later, the Ministry of Defense reported that up to 100 Ukrainian soldiers tried to break out of the encirclement in Mariupol, but this was prevented by Russian air and artillery strikes.

Later, the head of Chechnya said that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed him to launch an offensive against cities, villages and other settlements in Ukraine. He stated that Russian troops were going to "take Kyiv and all the other cities" of Ukraine. But then he made a reservation and explained that there was no goal to “take the cities”, and the task would be to free these points from the “Nazis” and “Bandera”.
