Expert: the opening of Turkey will not reduce the occupancy of hotels in the Kuban

Passenger flights with Turkish resorts will be resumed from June 22, RBC reported. Russian airlines can operate passenger flights to Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman. This decision was made due to the improvement in the situation with covid-19 in Turkey and against the backdrop of overcrowding in the Black Sea resorts of RUSSIA.

Alexan Mkrtchyan, DIRECTOR of the Pink Elephant travel agency network, noted that Kuban hoteliers will not have to worry too much about the resumption of flights to Turkey. However, they will no longer have super profits, the expert is sure.

“If earlier the owner of a 300-room hotel could buy a Bentley at the end of the season, now he will only buy an Audi. Prices will stop rising, moreover, some hoteliers will be forced to reduce them. Moreover, if prices were raised two or three times, they will be reduced by a maximum of 20-25%. And yet, the people of Russia will benefit from this,” Aleksan Mkrtchyan told RBC Krasnodar.

He added that demand and hotel occupancy will remain high. Only the category of vacationers in the resorts will change.

“Those people who were not ready to visit the resorts at the former high prices will simply come. As soon as they are reduced, the Krasnodar Territory will receive a slightly different, more budgetary category of vacationers, ”concluded Alexan Mkrtchyan.

The authorities of the resort towns also do not expect a decrease in the number of tourists due to the resumption of passenger flights with Turkey. In particular, the mayor of Gelendzhik Alexei Bogodistov wrote about this in his TELEGRAM channel.

According to him, there are about 60,000 tourists in Gelendzhik at the same time. The depth of hotel reservations until mid-September reaches 90%.

I will add that this year the competition for tourists will be won by the resort that provides anti-COVID measures better than others and quickly develops collective immunity among local residents, ”said Alexei Bogodistov.
