The failure with the timing of vaccination certificates on the Gosuslugi portal was due to the fact that they needed to be updated, but there was little time for this, Maksut Shadayev, HEAD of the Ministry of Digital Development, said. His statement came to users in a general mailing list from the portal.

As the minister explained, on October 22, the Ministry of HEALTH approved an order according to which, by November 8, a single form of certificate for those who were vaccinated or had been ill will be introduced throughout RUSSIA. Already issued certificates had to be promptly updated, Shadayev noted.

“We had little time to develop, implement and test, which is why there was a failure - the validity periods of the certificates of those who were ill and vaccinated were mixed,” he explained.
