From December 20, Germany will consider the UK a zone of distribution of CORONAVIRUS mutations and will restrict entry, the Robert Koch Institute at the German Ministry of HEALTH said on its website.
The Institute has included the UK along with Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands in the list of areas where coronavirus variants are spread. Since December 19, the country has become a high-risk area, the publication notes.
Travelers from these areas will be required to take a PCR test for covid-19 ten days before entering Germany. Upon arrival, medical staff at the airport or isolation facility may perform additional tests. They will undergo a 14-day quarantine, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated or have had a coronavirus.
In Britain, a record for the number of cases of COVID-19 per day was recorded Society
In addition to the UK, Botswana, Eswaniti, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa are on the list of the German Institute for the distribution of COVID-19 mutations.
