The conflicts and tensions currently existing in the world must be turned into multilateral cooperation. This was stated by UN Secretary General António Guterres in his address to the participants of the international conference "Dialogue is a guarantee of peace", which was read out by the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko, TASS reports.
“In a world torn by conflict and torn by tension, the principles that underpin multilateral cooperation are under enormous strain. We need to turn the current moment of crisis into a moment of multilateralism,” the Secretary General said in his address.
The international conference "Dialogue is a Guarantee of Peace" is being held in Ashgabat on Sunday on the eve of the 27th anniversary of the neutral status of Turkmenistan. The Day of Neutrality of the Republic is celebrated annually on December 12.
