The European Commission (EC) has recognized vaccination certificates issued in Ukraine and two other countries, Turkey and North Macedonia, as valid in the European Union. This is stated in a message published on the website of the EC.
From tomorrow, August 20, 2021, vaccination certificates issued in these countries will be accepted within the European Union under the same conditions as EU digital certificates. At the same time, Ukraine, Turkey and North Macedonia agreed to accept EU digital vaccination certificates as valid on their territory.
“I am delighted to see the list of countries implementing a system based on the EU covid digital certificate growing steadily and we are setting standards internationally. This will help facilitate safe travel, including outside our union,” EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders said on this occasion.
“The Commission continues to cooperate with other third countries in order to connect them to the EU system,” the EC said in a statement.
