The number of cases of COVID per day in Russia fell below 40 thousand

In Russia, 39,165 cases of covid-19 infection were detected over the past day , the operational headquarters reports. The total number of confirmed cases of the disease during the spread of the infection exceeded 8.7 million.

Before that, for four days in a row, the daily number of cases exceeded 40 thousand, the day before, on October 6, the headquarters reported 41.3 thousand infected, which was a record since the beginning of the pandemic.

Among the leading regions in terms of the daily number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 were Moscow (4975), Moscow region (3297), St. Petersburg (2551), Samara (1695) and Voronezh regions (796). Least of all cases were detected in the Magadan region (32), Chukotka (18) and Nenets Autonomous Okrugs (14).
