Death toll in fire at defense research institute in Tver rises to 17

The number of people killed in a fire at the Central Research Institute of the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces in Tver has risen to 17 people, TASS and Interfax report, citing informed sources.

“During the analysis of the rubble, the remains of six more dead were found. The total number of victims of the fire is 17 people," the TASS interlocutor said, adding that the analysis of the burnt structures continues.

According to an Interfax source, the whereabouts of the eight people remain unknown. The government of the Tver region indicated that 150 people were clearing the rubble. The leadership of the region also noted that doctors note a positive trend in those hospitalized as a result of the fire.
