For this, it was not necessary to increase the number of paid seats in parliament - Akhmadinurov got the post of the recently resigned deputy Aigul Gareeva. In total, the State Assembly, according to the law, provides for 25 deputy mandates on a professional basis.

“Deputy Aigul Gareeva, who worked on a professional permanent basis, recently resigned. Accordingly, we now have 24 such deputies (working on a professional basis - ). It is proposed to introduce Deputy Chairman of the State Assembly Rustem Akhmadinurov into the composition of deputies working on a professional permanent basis, expanding the list of his powers and duties. This need is connected with a difficult geopolitical situation, in which the need to build new effective inter-parliamentary communications is growing, ”said Konstantin Tolkachev, speaker of the State Assembly.

Ahmadinurov in his new status will be responsible for inter-parliamentary interactions, contacts with the Council of Legislators under the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Association of Legislators of the Volga Federal District, and public organizations. He will also continue to supervise the work of the Youth Public Chamber under the Kurultai of the Republic of Belarus.

The speaker of the State Assembly, justifying the need to appoint another deputy on a salary, spoke about the need to represent the region at a high level. According to Tolkachev, for this it is important that the representatives of the State Assembly "possess a high status position."

The Communist Party faction opposed the increase in the number of vice-speakers. This was announced by its leader, chairman of the republican committee of the Communist Party Yunir Kutluguzhin.

“When the issue of the deputy chairman of the State Assembly on a voluntary basis was discussed, we already, on behalf of the faction, expressed our position on the inappropriateness of an additional position. Today, when the economic situation and the situation with the Donbass, the Communist Party faction proposes not to inflate the staff of the leadership of the State Assembly. Two deputies on a professional basis and one on a voluntary basis did quite well. We are not against Akhmadinurov's candidacy, but in principle we do not support United Russia's proposal to introduce a position on a permanent basis," Kutluguzhin said.

Despite this, Akhmadinurov's candidacy was approved. 75 deputies voted in favor, seven members of the State Assembly voted against. Another 14 people abstained from voting, and two did not vote.
