In RUSSIA, the children's broad-spectrum antibiotic cefuroxime, which is included in the list of vital drugs, has disappeared from pharmacies, Vedomosti reports after analyzing the assortment of pharmacies.

The data of the Megapteka aggregator showed that Zinnat granules from the Swedish company Sandoz for the preparation of suspensions are not available in more than 1.8 thousand pharmacies in Moscow, 1.2 thousand pharmacies in St. Novgorod, as well as Samara, Krasnodar, Volgograd, Izhevsk and other large cities.

The publication also notes that another children's antibiotic - cefixime (produced under the brands Pancef, Suprax, Cefixime Express) also disappeared from a number of regional pharmacies, but it can still be found at certain points depending on the city.

The lack of these children's antibiotics was also shown by the results of a survey of 740 pharmacists conducted in January by the Association of Independent Pharmacies SRO and the Smartpharma platform for pharmacists. They noted the lack of children's forms of cefixime (Suprax, Pancef), azithromycin (Sumamed), as well as a deficiency of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid (Amoxiclav, Augmentin), amoxicillin (Flemoxin Solutab).

According to Nikolai Bespalov, development DIRECTOR of the RNC Pharma analytical company, the low representation of cefixime and cefuroxime in pharmacies is due to the lack of drugs with the active ingredient amoxicillin + clavulanic acid in general. A representative of the Aprel pharmacy chain added that the demand for antibiotics of different groups has increased due to an increase in the incidence of the population.

In mid-January, the newspaper reported that the children's anti-inflammatory drug ibuprofen in the form of suppositories (candles) was not available for purchase in Moscow pharmacies. Roszdravnadzor then stated that the Russian market has enough ibuprofen preparations in a pediatric dosage in the form of a suspension for oral administration.
